Overview
TLD Chat collects only the information required to provide the domain research experience, protect accounts, and comply with legal requirements. We never sell your personal data and restrict access to the minimum number of operators.
Data We Process
- Authentication details and profile data managed by Clerk.
- Chat messages, tool invocations, and metadata stored in Convex.
- Domain availability or WHOIS lookups performed on your behalf.
- Technical telemetry such as request identifiers and timestamps for troubleshooting.
- Aggregated product analytics events captured via PostHog to understand feature usage.
How We Use Data
- Deliver and improve the AI assistant experience.
- Detect abuse, secure accounts, and maintain service reliability.
- Measure token consumption so you can track usage and costs.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
Retention & Deletion
Data associated with your account is retained while the account is active. You can request the deletion of your conversations by contacting the project maintainers. Backups are periodically purged in accordance with our operational policies.
Third-Party Services
Clerk provides identity management and session handling. Convex hosts the database and serverless functions. PostHog records usage analytics events to help prioritize improvements. Domain availability and WHOIS lookups may query third-party registries or APIs. Each provider is contractually obligated to process data only as required to deliver their service.
Your Choices
- Sign out to end an active session immediately.
- Delete or rename chat threads to control which data persists.
- Contact us for questions or requests.
